Serious blunders ranged from massive clearing of forest to grow sugar cane to the repeated introduction of exotic species of plants and animals to the importation of hundreds of thousands of Indian coolies to work the sugar cane fields. I read this as a kid and the creepiness of the legendary hellhound made quite an impression. If you want a survey of resorts, nightlife, or the excitement of Honolulu, this book will not be helpful. The author is an expert on Sierra Leone, thus once I received the book, I immediately moved it to the top of my "must-read" pile. Joe is not an adulterer. However, the full guidance given in this textbook will allow motivated learners to use it for self-instruction as well. I suppose it does recall events in the history of Unity. It also serves to remind us that good writing is incredibly difficult. Well it would be the perfect trip if she could get Gabriels attention for more that five minutes. Forget my review and just buy it, borrow it, read it over a stranger’s shoulder… Doesn’t matter how you get to it, but definitely read it.
