This book exemplifies stellar writing: great characterization, solid plot, and realistic dialogue. The Parson of Jackman's Gulch is set in the gold fields of Australia and very much reminds me of some of Bret Hart's short stories. Which is normal, but then the kissing just seemed to come out of nowhere at the end and felt forced. More than fantasy, this book invites you to reflect and look within yourself (with a touch of sexy of course 😉), and open yourself about possibilities. Jonathan Hill burst onto the indie scene as an author in 2012 and has been entertaining readers with his fiction ever since. And, I actually would have had no problems with the book if it would have stayed at the simple "God made the dinosaur this way" type of comments. I cannot to wait to try the other recipes in this fantastic book. Not exactly a great time for minorities. I think the fall of this story was the author's desire to try and do way to much, instead of sticking to one story line and perhaps giving us a 4th book we get way more than we bargined for. We thank God for the most wonderful time in His great nation of China.
